The 2025 Royal Copenhagen Plaquette marks the 42nd anniversary of the darling little plate, the first of its kind being issued in 1984. Every year on the first Sunday in Advent, candles are lit on the Christmas tree in the Town Hall Square of Copenhagen, a tradition dating back to 1914. In this year's motif on the Royal Copenhagen Plaquette, a little boy and his mother greet Santa Claus crossing the Town Hall Square. The 2025 Christmas Plaquette’s motif was created by painter Dag Samsund. The 2025 Royal Copenhagen Plaquette measures 3.3” in diameter and includes Royal Copenhagen gift box with area for personal note to the recipient.
