St. Nicholas was based on the historical Bishop of Myra of the 4th century Byzantine church. In continental Europe (the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, and Germany) he is usually portrayed as a bearded bishop in canonical robes with a mitre on his head, carrying a crosier astride a large white horse. This is an original work of art created by Rebecca Dykstra in sterling silver and is limited to 250 pieces. Each ornament is numbered and includes original box, brochure, and flannel bag. The ornament is fully three-dimensional and measures 4.5" wide. Handcrafted in the USA.
